A Colorado State Patrol trooper is in critical condition after being shot by a suspect in Glenwood Canyon today. The trooper had stopped to offer assistance to the suspect who appeared to be a motorist broken down along Interstate 70.
While I criticize police officers frequently on this blog, I also recognize that they have an extremely difficult and dangerous job. Prior to going to law school, I was a paramedic for a number of years and served two years assigned to a SWAT team as a tactical medic. My job as a DUI lawyer requires me to vigorously defend my clients, I attempt to always do so in a respectful manner.
I ask that all of you recognize the service of these officers and pray for the speedy recovery of this injured trooper.
