As much attention as Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson have gotten over the past two weeks, NFL players are three times more likely to be arrested for DUI than any other crime. USA Today has researched arrest records for NFL players over the past five years. The most common alleged offenses were DUI (67), domestic violence (23), and 21 arrests for weapons charges. Unfortunately, my Denver Broncos were not immune. Defensive players account for the majority of arrests with defensive backs holding the top spot. . Of course, arrest records are easier to come by than conviction records and anyone that has been arrested is entitled to a lawyer and due process.
